Merlin's Safe Haven Cat Rescue has been established to provide for the rescue, care and placement of cats that have been abandoned, neglected, abused or which cannot be kept by their previous owner(s). Cats adopted through Merlin's Safe Haven Cat Rescue are placed exclusively as indoor family pets. All cats are altered and vaccinated prior to adoption. All cats are currently kept in foster homes; therefore, Merlin's Safe Haven Cat Rescue feels more knowledgeable about the cat and can help a prospective adopting family make the best decision adding a new family member for themselves as well as the cat.
We became an official non-profit in October 2017 and our IRS EIN is 82-2696393 under NTEE code Animal Protection and Welfare. Our rescue is operated completely by volunteers and runs solely on private donations. Please consider donating and getting involved in saving a life today!

A: The youngest we adopt out is 12 weeks when they reach 3lbs so they can be fixed and rabies vaccinated prior to adoption.

A: As an in-home foster based rescue, all meets (outside of public adoption events) are arranged based on an approved application.

8. How can I see your available kitties?
A: We try to post all of our kitties to our adoptable kitties album on our Facebook page as well as on Petfinder https://www.petfinder.com/member/us/pa/carnegie/merlins-safe-haven-cat-rescue-pa1042/ However, there are quite a number of occasions where requests for a particular type of cat/kitten come in prior to said cat or kitten being posted anywhere. Please contact us directly if you are looking for something in particular. We love helping match up potential adopters with kitties!
9. I'm interested in adopting, what's the next step?
